Ugh. I know what DH got me for Christmas.

DH told me he bought me "a little something" online and charged it to our credit card. I checked our account online to make sure my last payment posted and his purchase was the most recent one and based on where he bought it and the amount, I totally know what he got me. I'm sooooo excited about my present, I totally didn't expect to get it even though I've mentioned that I want it. I just can't believe I ruined the surprise!!

Aw, haha, bummer. I've learning that if I don't want DH to know what I've bought him, I need to pay with cash or get my parents to buy it and then pay them back... he checks our statement constantly and has ruined his surprises over and over.

He got me an iPad mini. He ordered it directly from Apple. I've been telling him how awesome his is, the kids got him one for Father's Day and I play with it sometimes when he's at work. :-\"

That's a bummer.  DH never knows what is going on with our bank account so I can use the card to buy his gifts and he carries cash pretty regularly and don't track every penny of it so he buys my gifts with cash.  It works for us.

@sing4mysavior what machine are you getting? I really want a new one but can't decide what to ask for. My old White machine just needs servicing too damn often and has been through the wars with all of the costume sewing I used to do at school.

Sergers are amazing.  I have a Bernina serger that I got off of Craigslist for $75 (!!!) and I love it so much that I try to use it all the time instead of bothering to fight with the sewing machine.  Don't know how I went for so many years without one!

Um, I'm so jealous. I got birthday money yesterday! (3 cards...who knew people still sent you money in your 30's!) I'm totally putting it in a "serger fund". OP: That's no fun, but I guess it's nice you are getting what you wanted! DH bought our stocking stuffers and then wanted to tell me what he got so he could see if I'd like it! I screamed NO!! before he could talk. Christmas hum-bug.

I freaking love my Brother. I have a machine and a serger, both Brothers, that my mom got me while I was studying theatrical costuming in college. They were both refurbs, and they have served me well. I'm kind of sad right now because the machine is acting up and needs to be serviced, but I don't want to spend the money right before Christmas.

I have my own credit card, but it all comes from the same bank account. I knew that when I ordered DH's gifts, he would know when he saw the bill.   Sooo.  I had my mom order H's gifts this year (well, I ordered... and used her CC) and then I took out the cash to pay her back. That way, H had NO clue.  He just saw cash gone, but no bills from where I got the items.   I did that last year, too... that way it's a surprise!
