1st appt yesterday... left worried... update

So I had my appt yesterday and when we were looking for a HB, we couldn't find one

I'm 12 weeks now and I feel like I should have heard something. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow and I just hope we can get some good news!!

I had a threatened miscarriage at 5 weeks so I'm really hoping we don't lose our little one

**update**
Everything went great!! Saw a beautiful little heart beat and baby was looking great!! Ahhh words can explain how happy and relieved we are!!

Also, turns out I'm a week further along than we originally thought! Thank you all for your support!!

Your worry is totally understandable but at 12 weeks, it's still not necessarily a guarantee that a doppler can pick up the HB. You might have an anterior placenta, which can make it difficult to pick up or maybe the baby was just being really stubborn.

I agree with PP... Trying to find a heartbeat with a Doppler even at 12 weeks can be iffy. I went in at 12 weeks and my doctor had a very difficult time trying to find his heartbeat, after several minutes of searching, she found it but it was still sort of hard to hear. I bought my own Doppler around the same time and wasn't able to find it consistently until several weeks later. I nearly had a stroke during that appointment so I can imagine how worried you are.

Try not to worry too much! When I was pregnant with my first they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler at my 12 week appointment. They were able to get me in for an ultrasound the same day and luckily the baby was fine! I think it is common. I will say a prayer for you and your LO. Best wishes.
