Anyone's baby been on Ceftin

DD started an antibiotic today for an ear infection. Last time she was on ammox, so this time he prescribed ceftin. The first time I tried to give it to her, she threw up everywhere. It is nasty. I had them flavor it, but it is so thick and chalky! Just wondering if anyone had experience with it?
