Anyone have gallbladder issues??

Anyone diagnosed with gallbladder problems or gallstones during pregnancy and if so what were your symptoms? I have severe upper abdominal pain, the very top where my stomach and breasts meet. Tons of upper back pain between my shoulder blades, very loose stool. Have a very hard time eating anything without feeling full fast and then being in pain and last night I actually woke up vomiting. I went to the dr last week who admitted me thinking it was preterm labor which it wasn't. They just kind of chalked it up to 2 babies being in my ribs and breech. Well the pain and symptoms have not gone away and I can't imagine doing this for another 6 weeks. (Im 32 weeks now, scheduled C for 38 weeks) My Dr thinks it might be my gallbladder and I have a stomach ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow. Although I want everything to be ok I almost hope this is it so we can manage and move on. I'm really in a lot of pain most of the time and really need some relief!!!

  • Yep that's GB. I finally had mine out after baby #6 in 2011. With him I had my only pregnancy GB attacks. Once after eating Italian dressing on salad and once after pizza. It was also at 32 wks and it's Howarth the most painful feeling. I was doubled over for 9.5 hrs rocking back and forth. I didn't go to hospital bc it was xmas eve and I knew what it was and they couldn't do anything. I don't want to miss xmas w my hubby and kids!!!!
I had mine 6wks after he was born (along w a tubal, hence my IVF and now twins lol).
    I feel 100000x better.

  • I did with my first (singleton) pregnancy. Exact same SEVERE pain and vomiting that you are describing. Mine was managed with tylenol with codeine for the last month of pregnancy. 1 pill at night managed the pain pretty well.

  • Yup yup.  I had gall stones.  EXTREME pain to the point of going to the ER twice.  The first time was while I was pregnant.  They couldn't figure out why I was in so much pain (didn't know about the stones yet) so they thought I was there for pain meds.  They went as slow as possible to help me.  By the time they were going to do anything the pain went away...6 hours later.

The second time was after I had the babies.  Knew about the stones but we were hoping they would get better.  No dice.  I was admitted 3 weeks after giving birth and had my gall bladder out soon after.

    NO FUN!

  • It's awful. My DX came back after GB was out- extremely diseased. Multiple gallstones and polyps (we had already known for years I had polyps and stones).
