Bloodwork in first trimester?

How often is an obstetric panel done during pregnancy? This is all costing me a lot of money....just want to be prepared if they keep doing this haha. How often do they keep drawing blood throughout for other reasons? I am currently 12 weeks

Ahhh ok I asked for the genetic testing....just didn't think all of my other tests were going to cost me so much so early! Was really hoping to not have any more after that lol

I was never offered genetic testing at my office. But I got tested for HIV and other things. But that's all the blood work I've had done thus far

I also only had bloodwork done once in 1st tri. If I had chosen to do the screening, then that would have been another round. The standard is to check for certain antibodies, STDs, and a few other things.

Usually you only get blood work done as PP say above, unless you are experiencing complications or have a previous history of loss.  Then your Dr. may draw blood more often to track your hcg and/or progesterone levels.

I had it drawn at my first appt for basic stuff and then had the bloodwork for the NT scan done as well.  Those were the only two times I had it drawn during the first trimester.

My doc always does big blood draw at 1st appointment, then one later to look for diabetes or what not but that's not as big deal as this first full panel.
