I am only a sometimes poster over here, and I did read through the mess that happened over the last few days.

B+B-- sorry if you get banned.  I think you generally give good advice, but I have to say I think it's pretty gross to call someone trailer trash.  It's basically a racial slur.  Racial slurs (regardless of what race you belong to) are always a bad idea. 

I am guessing/ hoping you had a lapse of judgement?

Trailer trash is a racial slur? I've never heard that before....

^ More a slur on poverty than race, but yes there is a racial component too.  It is basically a variant on white trash.  I hate it too.  I have known and loved lots of good people who lived in trailer parks, and have lived in a trailer myself for a time, though on separate land.

Pretty sure a person of any race can live in a trailer. Her comment had nothing to do with race.

Trash comes in all colors and incomes. Trailer trash is meant to refer to trashy people who happen to live in trailers, not as an indictment on all trailer inhabitants as trash. If I make a statement about "aggressive pit bulls," I am not stating that all pit bulls are aggressive; I am talking about pit bulls who happen to be aggressive.
