Cannot Stand Babies R Us!!!

I am so frustrated with this store I may never go in again, thank goodness I have BBB nearby.  I made only two purchases on my babies r us credit card and they were for furniture solely to get the no interest for 6 months.  One billing cycle went by seemingly ok and on the second I wanted to know the exact date the promotion would expire so it was paid prior.  I noticed I was charged interest on this cycle and there are no promotions listed.  I called and after 20 minutes on with the first agent he finally realized I must not have told the checkout people I wanted the promotional rate because they didn't put the code in!  First that's not true because it was ordered in the store the same time the card was applied for this purpose so the agent in the store knew what was going on.... second you should get the rate no matter what!  If the promotion is for no interest over $299 I shouldn't have to say I want that!  So now I'm hold with another specialist who will "try" and credit the interest that shouldn't have been charged and update the promotion.  I do not feel like sitting here another 20 minutes for this!!

.... and they just sent me back to the main menu while I was on hold for the specialist so I get to explain the whole issue to the next helpful agent. AHHHHHHHHHHH

That sucks! Sorry that you are having no luck with dealing with the issue over the phone. I hate calling to settle an issue; they never know what you are talking about. It gets frustrating very quickly. Hopefully you can get the issue resolved!

I have also found them lacking. I transferred 90% of my stuff to my BBB registry.

They are idiots.  I just spent the BRU gift card I got from my shower and have no intention of ever dealing with them again.

We don't have Buy Buy Baby here, but Toys R Us/Babies R Us stores are terrible here too - no matter which one you go too.  Service in store is terrible, the phone is terrible, and my sister worked for them and quit after 2 months.  They were always pulling stuff on her.  I just hate going there!

Thanks for making me feel better during my hold time earlier ladies!!  They eventually credited what they needed to and set up the promotion.  I can't help but wonder if this was intentional on there part, not everyone is as OCD about payments as I am and may not have caught that.  Done with that store for sure!

I had a horrible experience there tryin to get a promotional value for baby food when DS2 was a baby. It was so bad I didn't go back for over a year and since then I haven't been back more than a handful of times. Their customer service is atrocious.

I have had several really bad experiences with them in the past 3 months - so much so that I just spent my final gift card I had received from my shower the other day - and I will never, ever shop there again.

I couldn't apply my completion coupon, so I called customer service.  The lady was really nice.  It took awhile and didn't work the first time, but she she applied a different 10% off code and I got my monitor for alot cheaper than anywhere else! 

I am sorry that your sales clerk messed up and the no interest wasn't automatically applied.  I can't even imagine how much money they make on people not catching that they are being charged interest.  Seems unethical to me.

We avoided them just based on the fact that Toys R Us/BRU charge more than MSRP for tons of things.

For example, we buy lots of legos. TRU marks them up 10-15% above MRSP, so even when they're on sale for 20% off, it's still usually cheaper to get them not on sale at Target with a Red Card.

Ugh I hate that place with a passion. I can't wait until we finish returning items and buy the last few remaining items we need with our gift card so I never have to step foot in that place again. Wish I would have registered at BBB as no one barely bought off our registry anyway (registered at BRU as it's local to fiends and family) as it would have made our lives a lot easier.

That's what I think. I registered at BRU before setting foot in a BBB. I couldn't fathom redoing the registry and BBB isn't super conveniently located so I never switched over.

I had a great time dealing with BRU. I ended up getting 33% off everything I bought including furniture!!! A manager walked me through how to get the best deal. I really liked them. Sorry everyone else had such a crappy time.

I only use BRU for specific things that i can't get at target or Walmart. The closest one is about 45-60 min away so I don't go that much. The mark up on most of their stuff is ridiculous! I only but something if I find a good deal but I think most times I end up walking out of the store empty handed.

ETA: their return policy is awful! I had a receipt, it was within the 90 days and they would only give me the current price of the item. I thought that was stupid!

i don't mind BRU but there is only one buy buy baby in my area and it's inconvenient to go to. I agree the mark up is crazy because they KNOW they have you but I'm a sale shopper anyhow.

Also - I have that same problem with most no interest promo's that every time I do one, I end up calling in the first billing cycle just to be sure regardless and it's never for anything small either - I think the first time was my laptop from Sony. once you start telling them you didn't want to use their card otherwise they straighten things out pretty quick.
