Word Choice (warning)

My first beta was on Monday and my hcg came back as 1100. I went for my second beta today and it came back 2109. My nurse is off until Friday so the nurse that called me really confused me. She kept saying my numbers were fine and I would ask are they progressing like they should? Her response was "they're fine." I'm sorry but "FINE" is not a word I want to hear when comes to IF/hcg numbers. I was livid and stressing out. So I called back and talked to the same nurse since she's the only one in right now and again she used the words fine and okay to explain my numbers. I called the third time to talk to the receptionist, since she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and explained my numbers to her to try to see if my numbers were where they should be or not.

Am I wrong to be upset with the word "fine" describing my numbers?

So are my numbers good? I'm so confused and stressed....

Those betas sound good to me, though I'm no expert (never had a positive HPT or beta). I completely understand how you were stressing out by the nurse saying the numbers were "fine." That would have freaked me out too. I know it sounds completely irrational, but when people tell me something is "fine" in my mind I think that means things could be borderline good or bad. For something as important as this, I'd go absolutely bonkers!

I agree that "Fine" is not the most reassuring word. From my understanding you are well within the normal range for doubling which is much more than fine! Great, encouraging, optimistic, would all be better terms. Congratulations!
