Would you find this offensive?

We are thinking of putting up some framed pictures of vintage pin up girls in the bathroom that is primarily DD's . It would be anything dirty, theyd be clothed etc. just seems kinda fun and kitschy, but I wonder if it's weird to have that in a little girls bathroom? This is also the bathroom that our guests use, FYI.

  • I think it'd be weird in a kids area.

  • I don't know if I'd put them in my guest bathroom.

  • I love pinup girls like crazy, but I wouldn't put them in my daughter's bathroom. It seems a little off. Not offensive, just...off.
  • I like this pictures too, even got my husband a calendar for Christmas, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable putting it in a little girls bathroom.
  • I kind of love it, actually. An alternative would be framed vintage newspapers with Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn. A friend of mine has her bathroom done like this, and it looks really nice. I will see if she will send me a picture since I did a really piss poor job describing it.

  • I really like the vintage as idea - there is really only one pin up pic Ive found that I'd be ok using, it is a drawing (not photo) of a bubble bath scene- pretty, curvy girl but fairly innocent looking. Maybe that one and then two bath related vintage ads would work. Thanks for all the feedback!

  • I vote inappropriate, but I'm so conservative that I won't buy clothes for my girls with Ariel on them unless she's in a dress.  On that note, it wouldn't offend me if I saw it in someone else's house (it's their house!!), I just definitely wouldn't put it in mine.

  • I wouldn't be offended by it, but I really like that kind of stuff.

And I don't think it's weird to have it in a kid's bathroom. My kid uses the guest bath as his "main" bathroom because the other is the master off our bedroom, but we didn't change the decor to reflect that a child uses it.

  • Not offensive, but I don't know about in my kid's bathroom. In mine, fuck yeah.

  • In a guest bathroom...not offensive. In a kids bathroom...doesn't really suit. Wouldn't say its offensive just not what I would envision in a kids area. What's throwing me is that a guest bathroom is a kids bathroom. I grew up with only one bathroom in the house (once the toilet was separate but rest of the time not) we didn't view it as his/hers kids/adults guests...there was only one everyone used it. My parents dictated the decor (when my dad finally finished decorating, his longest stretch was 8yrs long) they were not childish in decoration but I guess not overly adult either. My parents really only ever went for paint colour, Carpet or wallpaper.....
  • Well it's not like she has her own dedicated bathroom, but we have two bathrooms - one off a hallway with a tub and one connected to our bedroom with just a shower. She uses the one with the tub, and since you have to walk through our bedroom to get to the other one, company often uses the hall bath.
