Severe dizziness

Anyone else dealing with a lot of dizziness as they stand? Doctor told me that I need a support band because of the way that the baby is positioned but the appointment to be fitted for the support band isn't until Dec. 3rd. What do I do in the mean time? I'm a hairstylist and I obviously want to keep working as long as possible because I'm not due until January. 

I've been feeling like a very unreliable worker lately and I can't do much to make myself feel better during work. I've been taking iron pills also - any other suggestions?

i have extreme dizziness, i wear a support band, i have really low blood pressure and blood sugar. i have to eat protein every 1.5 hours and cut back on the sugar and carbs. i also have to stand really slow. it is kind of helping but my doctor said it is just normal for some pregnant people. it is really hard to function when dizzy. i am sorry

Do you have to throw up sometimes too? I had to excuse myself the other day in front of a client because I had to throw up. Sometimes I try to drink water but that makes it worse.

Stay hydrated and make sure you are getting plenty of iron.  I'm hit and miss with dizzy spells.  I've been going days without them in the past month, then I'll have a day when it's awful.  Drinking lots of water does seem to help me.  That's what my OB said to do as well.

i feel like i am going to throw up but i take a ton of zofran so that helps the nausea. i throw up in my mouth but yet to throw up because when i feel the nausea come i take a zofran

I second staying hydrated, that will make dizzy.

Sometimes when I'm drinking water, I end up throwing it up because it seems like my stomach cant handle it. Maybe I'm drinking it too fast when I'm in dizzy? I just feel so hot when it happens that I'm chugging the water. Does that happen to anyone too?

Dehydration will make you throw up or sick to your stomach. It doesn't mean it's that, it could be anything; but yea try sipping room temp water or Gatorade slowly and see if that helps.

A few people mentioned blood pressure. Low blood pressure can make you dizzy, but so can high BP, ask the nurse to tell u what your BP numbers are when you see the dr. My Bp was normal... I had been dizzy a few times and when I went in for my 37 week check up I had to have an emergency csection due to Bp. Not that this is ur situation just be aware.

sorry you are going through this!!! i had extreme dizziness from 20 weeks through 27 weeks and now off and on.  i have very low blood pressure and when it drops i get nauseous, dizzy and lightheaded.  i eat very often and also drink ice water or orange juice throughout the day, and also carry an ice pack around with me. hope you feel better soon!

I just ended up in the ER for this two weeks ago; My doctor's advice seems to echo previous posters with the same issue.  Eat more often, every 1.5 to 2 hours, and make sure you're getting enough protein and whole grains.  Increase water intake to stay hydrated.
