@piphigirl doesn't like sweet potatoes.
blasphemy.
I like both the can and the homemade.
SO, what dish will you always pass on?
I don't care for green bean casserole. Also, at my sMILs family get together, a bunch of them bring this stuff called "meat dressing" and it basically looks like taco bell ground beef in a sick sauce. :::Shudder::: but it's their thing, whatever.
Re: what Thanksgiving dish do you pass on?
My MIL makes the most awful warm pasta and potatoe salad. They are not even good at cookouts why she makes them during the holiday I have no idea. I also pass on mashed potatoes unless my stepdad or I make them. No one in both of our families know what they are doing with potatoes . . . I just don't get it. Ewww I also don't like turkey gravy.
I don't really discriminate on Thanksgiving when it comes to the classic dishes but there is this broccoli salad that my Grandma makes every holiday.
It's okay...but a broccoli/nut/mayonnaise salad isn't what I want to fill my plate with on Thanksgiving. Everyone takes a tiny bit of it to not hurt her feelings though
Any other vegetable casserole too actually but we've never had anything but the green bean kind.
Pumpkin cheesecake. Um...just make a pie. So much better.
Anything my stepmom makes. Serious, she thinks of random shit in her head and tries to create it. Disgusting. It broke my heart the year she made the green bean casserole. It normally is my favorite and I just couldn't touch it.
Anything else Thanksgiving related I am game for.
The first time I had it, I thought it was like oh, poor grandma is 90 and accidentally grabbed a can of olives when looking for the peaches. Nope. She did it on purpose.
I am SO EXCITED FOR THANKSGIVING!!!!
For years my family served Waldorf salad. No thank you, ever.
Corn, peas, pecan pie - all staples with dh's family but not for me on Tday.
