I'm thinking I'll be out for 12 wks after delivery. I hope to work up until about a week before I deliver. Between my sick time and std all of that will be paid.
I'll be lucky if i get my 6 weeks. My position is such that i am absolutely crucial and the company can't run without me. I'm glad i have some time to figure it all out, my bosses are really cool and i know will try to work out something with me but we'll see how it goes.
I get 12weeks, but what I would like to do is work at least one day a week for the first 6weeks, I know my self well enough that I know I will probably go nuts after bing home for four days straight, so I will need to work at least one day a week. I will have 6weeks at 65% of my salary and 6weeks at 100% of my salary.
I get 6 weeks paid but my husband may be switching jobs next summer and would require relocating. If we relocate I'll quit and stay at home for a while. I'd love if he could get a job that makes me staying home indefinitely a possibility, though!
I'm taking 12 weeks - I'm hoping to have enough annual/sick leave to pay for the two weeks before my STD kicks in. I really need to do some more research into STD though, cause I don't really know how it works. It pays 65%, so we'll definitely have to do some saving up so that we can pay the bills.
I own my own business so I'm not sure what I will take. Being due in July with a pool company, I am thinking I will not be out very long mostly because I will want to know what is going on since we will still be busy. The good thing is that I can take the Winter almost entirely off to be with the baby. So it will be tough at the beginning but I will make up for lost time.
I'm with you @Tealowl. I never understood why we are so behind the ball on Maternity Leave.

Research STD. The problem I have found is for mine, I would have had to sign up for it 2 years ago for it to kick in next year.

I will be taking 8 weeks at least since this is my first. I may take 12 just to get my other two started in school ok with teacher meetings and stuff since my oldest is SN.
I will have about 6 weeks of PTO saved by then if nothing tragic happens in the family. I will take FMLA for the other 2 weeks as my job doesn't offer maternity leave. I can take AFLA which gives me 18 weeks but I wont unless there is an emergency since it is all unpaid. Also, I have to work at least the first day of the month or be able to talk leave that day to keep my health insurance and you have to take all your leave together. You can't intersperse it.

How much time off are you partners planning on taking?
What is this STD that everyone keeps talking about (kind of an ironic acronym)
If it's anything like Germany with the 65% there is certainly a different tax regulation. Here I earned nearly the same amount I did before even though it was "only" 65%. Look into it!
@bzbear2 Short Term Disability!! I theoretically get 12 weeks of FMLA (CRFA) leave and up to four months of PDL (pregnancy disability leave) I get three weeks at 100% and the rest at 65% which I might supplement with PTO.
