I am 35w 5d with a larger sized baby. This weekend my bump started to cramp/ ache none stop for over 24 hours. I knew that it was not contractions or early labor, but it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I called my doctor and she sent me to the local OB triage room. They put me on the monitor and checked for early labor, Big surprise it wasn't early labor! While I was there they put a belly band on my bump to hold the monitors in place. This was a cotton/ spandex band that was not too constricting, but allowed just enough support for my baby! Well that was the answer! I now wear that band all night while sleeping and sporadically throughout the day. It has helped me sleep better at night, makes transitions from laying down to sitting up easier, and generally all "pain" is alleviated.
I am a first timer, so I had searched the internet trying to see what could have been causing all this sudden pain, before I went to the doctor. I was not able to find anything that helped me. So I am posting this in case someone else has sudden cramping and pain. Here is something that you can try, but remember to still call your doc . . . Good luck! I hope my little story helps someone else! It has made a world of a difference for me! :-)
