I saw this in The Washington Post today and thought of you ladies. Really, no tags? Who wants to bet that this MTB would have a friend stationed at the door to collect the gifts?
Of all the things I might say "I'd skip" if ___ happened, this I really WOULD skip. What the hell? While, in essence, giving a gift shouldn't be about getting "credit" for it - at the same time, to REQUEST "no tags".... jaw on floor.
Disgusting! I would get a cheap, tacky gift... if I went. Would people really bother putting a lot of thought into a gift (a) for someone so tacky and (b) if they wouldn't notice?
My favorite part of the whole column was this reader comment: "My father loved to putter--indoors or out, it didn't matter. So on hot days, when he sat down to lunch, he was often sweaty and chose to doff his shirt and sit at the table bare-chested. When asking and threatening didn't work, my stepmother finally cured him of this habit the day she sat down bare-chested at the lunch table herself." ROFL
