anyone have book suggestions for new dads?

I am looking for a book for my husband about becoming a dad. He has a great sense of humor, and I would lool for a  "lighter" book, rather than one that has all the nitty gritty details of preganancy. I have "What to expect When Your Expecting" and I read him some stuff out of there, but he gets a bit queezy...lol...

any suggestions for an excited, yet squimish dad to be?

  • Someone borrowed a book called Your Pregnancy: For the Father to Be. My SO who doesn't really like to read has been enjoying it so far.

  • The Baby Owner's Manual.
It's light and funny because it is broken down in simple terms and reads like an actual manual. My man loves it
  • Caveman's Pregnancy Companion, My Boys Can Swim, Dude, You're Gonna Be a Dad. All of these seem to be popular options with our funny dads in the office.

  • Dad's Pregnant, Too is a great book! My DH and a lot of our guys friends like it, too.
  • Dude, Your Going to be a Dad! I gave it to my husband when we found out we were pregnant with our first. It's very comical!

I couldn't get DH to read anything he was just not into it. Since I was all about doing a ton or research he just said tell me what you think is important and we will talk about it. I walked him through my birth plan and we had a great conversation about that. We also watch the business of being born together as well as come youtube natural birth vidoes. I also did Hypnobabies and so he learned quite a bit from that.
When the baby was born he was a wonderful birth partner and was all about catching the baby, cutting the cord etc. It was great.
Same here.  My hubs didnt read any books.  I did,  but I didn't find anything in the books that prepared me for having a kid.  We talked about it, we prayed about it, and we lived it.  You both will learn everything you have to know from your kid once they are born.  No kid is alike and no  book can prepare you 100%.  I would just warn him about the basics:  the cone head, how to change a diaper, etc.  Good luck!
