he's so helpless!!

My son will be 3 in January & all of the sudden he's completely helpless!!! I think part of it is he wants attention. Usually when I'm nursing DD whose 5 months old.
He can't go to his room by himself to look for toys or pull his underwear down, play by himself just stuff like that.
I play with him a lot!! I'm exhausted!! I am either entertaining him or DD. I can't clean BC he whines the entire time & I get so frustrated. I'm a sahm so I get no break! He is still napping 2 hrs a day.
Dh helps at night but how can I get DS to get over this hump. I wish he could do some stuff by himself!!
