Head banging and squinting?

So, I have asked this before and wanted to see if anyone is still experiencing this too.

Ds likes to randomly hit his head on things, the floor when he's mad, pretty much anything his head touches. He'll do it and then look at us. I am guessing he's doing it for attention, but it concerns me.

Also, I've noticed lately that he is squinting. Anyone else seen this?

Why does everything always point to Autism?

Re: Head banging and squinting?

  • Don't go to Dr. Google for these things- these days a weird sneeze could be autism. Kids do strange ass things when they are frustrated/mad/angry/hungry/sleepy.

DD pulls her hair when she's angry she USED to throw her head back and land where ever she fell. I could usually see them coming and would lay her down before or put a pillow under her so when she laid there she would hit her head on that and not the hardwood floor.

DD squints too- she makes this mean mug look and one day I gave her the stink eye back- playing around making faces and now she does this squinty mean mug.

Our neighbors daughter, who is 3 months younger slams her head on things standing/sitting/laying when she gets told no. I know it's odd to us that they are intentionally  hurting themselves to show frustration but it's just that. frustration. Once it passes it's like it never happened. Kids are strange.. haha :)

Good to know, good to know! Glad I'm not the only one. I try to redirect him when he is throwing a fit and banging his head, but he is a stubborn little boy!
