Hi ladies. I'm new here and I have a question. My baby girl is 10 weeks old. She if formula fed and she stays constipated. Not only does it take her days to poop, but when she does it is hard lumps of poop. I usually have to give her karo/prune juice/ glycerin suppositories, all of which my pedi suggested using if she gets constipated. If one of those doesn't work ,I try the other. Does this mean I need to try a new formula? Or will her digestive system work itself out after awhile?
Do you use powder formula? Are you packing it when you scoop it? DH and I noticed we were doing this when DS poop started getting thicker last week and he had a day when he had a solid poo. We stopped packing it and everything is back to normal. It may have been a coincidence though.
In your case though it sounds like this has been going on more than a few days. Like kim said, I would continue to work with your pedi.

Probably not a coincidence. Baby ends up with a lot more formula that way, so more food/vitamins/minerals and less water. Glad you figured it it quickly! OP, I would think switching would be a good idea, but if ask pe SF I what formulas would help, or what ingredients to look for to avoid. The treatments may work, but they aren't without risks, and poor baby is uncomfortable, so anything you can do to avoid the situation is good.
