Hello,
When did you head to the hospital? I've been having contractions for almost 7 hours now. It's almost at about 5 min frequency and a minute length. I would say it was mostly medium pain but now feeling quite strong.
I haven't had my water break or lost my mucous plug that I know of( I know this can be different for everyone)

I know they say usually you should head to hospital if they are about 5 mins apart and a minute each for an hour but I've also been told with your first baby to try staying home as long as possible

What does your Dr. suggest?

I went in when my contractions were 3-4 minutes apart.

Do not wait much longer! Mine happened very fast and by the time I got an epi I was already 8 cm....painful! FTM here too

It really depends on what you're comfortable with and what your birth plan looks like.

I went to the hospital when they were 4-5 mins apart for about 45 mins. By the time I got to the hospital I was hardly able to wAlk from the pain. Head to the hospital!

Depends, if you are hoping for a med-free birth and not too far from the hospital you could probably wait.  If you want an epi or have a long way to go, now would probably be a good time.

We live about 15 min from the hospital. With my first I went at 3.5-1-1 and had been in labor for 10 hours, arrived at 6cm.  With my second left at 2-1-1 had been in labor for 2 hours or less, DS was born in triage.

It really depends. I had extremely painful contractions for a day and there were 5 minutes apart the whole time. But at one point I just KNEW.
