Just contacted HR

Due to me being out on bedrest, I have to return to work after my 12 weeks of FMLA on Fed 24, that puts DS around 8-9 weeks....is this unreasonable? I can take personal leave following that, but I would have to pay cobra for benefits....

    I was in this same situation, and it was either come back from maternity leave at 8 weeks, or be fired.  I was on modified bedrest from 22 weeks pregnant on, and ended up coming back with one week before this "cut-off".  It sucks... so I feel for you.

    It's not unreasonable. Lots of women only get 6 weeks of maternity leave, and some go back even sooner.

    I'll be going back when DS is 8 weeks because we can't afford for me to take unpaid time off.  It sucks :(
