I need someone to help hold me accountable. Anyone? I am forced to workout at home at 5:30 am, so it is a weekly struggle to get all of my workouts in. I need to lose ten lbs stat, 15 would be nice. We could do a daily check in, post our workout, food, whatever. My goal is to work out 4 times a week minimum, hopefully 5.
Re: Workout buddy?
So far I'm having a cup of coffee and oatmeal. That only keeps me full till 11 or so, and I usually have a snack. I go to the gym about 3 times a week in the morning. Need to up that number.
I've been insanely exhausted since last week, so I definitely need the motivation.
What kinds of workouts do you do? I usually do some running and 30 min on the elliptical. I'm thinking of trying a body fusion class if I can time it right.
Like you @BluepointToasted, I have to get my workouts done at home, as I'm a SAHM. i really need to get my ass moving earlier in the a.m. so i can get my workout done before DS wakes up. Right now im stuck getting it in dduring naptime which is hit or miss bc I lose motivation by then.
My eating habits need an overhaul for sure. I normally eat pretty healthy..its my portions that have always been the problem. I guess its counterproductive when you eat healthy, but you're eating too much of it, right? And I can also relate to wine/vodka being my vice. I want to cut alcohol back to once a week only, if that.
Eta I'd love to lose a good 30-40lbs. So I have my work cut out for me!
Sounds like you have across to a gym
Try a strength class or consult a personal trainer so they can show you how to use machine and give basic exercises
Strength is very very important
And yeah, you'll be sore bc you're not used to doing it
In your opinion, if I were to become more committed to following one of these programs start to finish and do a better job cutting/controlling my calories, is that enough physical activity for me to lose weight? Jillian's workouts are normally only 20-25 minutes so I wasn't sure if this was sufficient exercise or not.
Hopefully that all makes sense..lol.
Exercise is still very important but finding an eating plan that works for you is key, and it's going to take some trial and error
And it's not going to stay constant
Eta thanks for your help :-)
Okay, I will try my best to start a daily check in thread. As I sit here in my pencil skirt that feels like a corset, I realize I have reached that critical point where it is do or die. I will not buy new clothes, especially when I have a whole pile of stuff that will fit if I just lose a few lbs. I need people to keep me in check, I always worked out with a trainer before and did group training classes, and that support was so instrumental in me liking exercise finally at the age of 28.
This week should be a good one, DH is working nights so I have no one to drink with, and no one to lay in bed with instead of getting up to work out in the morning.

I can go to more body fusion classes. The one from this morning used weights (you can pick what size) and incorporated a lot of lunges and squats. She did these walking lunges that definitely kicked my butt. There was a 60 year old there that was in much better shape than me. I have lots of room for improvement.
There are probably other great classes, including strength trainning but the schedule doesn't line up. Childwatch is only available in the morning and evenings. I go before DD's nap in the morning.
Just tell them you want lifting exercises
