Trouble TTC

SOOO Many Issues

Over the last few weeks I have been seeing a Fertility specialist and there seems to be sooooo many issues that have come to light. I come here for real advice and support. Outside of the TTTC community everybody just says it will all work out...but will it really. Ok well in the last 3 weeks I was diagnosed with PCOS, U/S showed a "pearl necklace" as the doctor called it. Then blood tests showed a high level of testosterone and AMH. During the u/s doc saw a pelvic mass so he ordered a MRI. While all this is going on I have been bleeding for 33 days. I got the MRI results this weekend and doctor said I only have one ovary , the right ovary never descended. And I only have 3/4 of a uterus...with only half on my right side. He also saw fibroids and polyps. So I am now working with one ovary that polycystic, and a deformed uterus with fibroids. Doctor has order a scan to see if I have a right kidney, I guess no right ovary could also mean no kidney. And doctor wants to do an HSG to see if the left tube is a viable tube. Please ladies give it to me straight is this horrible news....
I haven't even shared the results with my husband yet I just don't want him to lose hope. And I kind of feel like a mutant...:(
Me: +35 DH: +35

  • What a blow! I'm sorry that's far from the news you were anticipating. I don't know anything about the medical side of things, so I won't comment on that. What I will say, though, is that you are in the right place for emotional support and let your RE handle the medical side. Trust that your doctor knows what they're doing and will be able to take care of it, or provide you with other options or a referral to someone who may be better able to address the health concerns.
As far as feeling like a mutant, I've been there. I'm very fortunate to have an amazing husband who is very sensitive to my feelings and has never once made me feel like I'm a mutant, less of a woman, or that this is my fault. I wish the same for you, in regards to your husband.
    Sorry again for the news.

  • What your doctor discovered is called a Muellerian Anomaly. I also have a muellerian anomaly although not the same as yours. When I found out this forum gave me great support and pointed me towards very helpful links such as this one https://mulleriananomalies.blogspot.com/?m=1

When I found out my news sharing it with my husband and having him by my side through all the testing was my comfort and my rock.
Hope you find the link helpful.

  • Hugs. It sounds overwhelming but try to tackle one problem at a time. I had a huge polyp in my uterus that was discovered after heavy bleeding and it was really no big deal to get it removed so hopefully your mass will take care of the bleeding too.
Ready to take the road less traveled.
