LO is 1 week old and since installing both car seats, we've realized that with both of the car seats being so bulky, a third person will not fit in the backseat. Prior to LO, DS's carseat was forward-facing, in the middle. When DH installed our infant car seat, he said he had to move over DS's car seat to the passenger side because he said the way the LATCH system in our car works, it's designed to have 2 car seats on the driver's side and passenger side. He says it will not work with one in the middle and one on the side. Anyways, this arrangement will not work because we need to have a 3rd person fit in between the carseats because I have a teenage step-son, and at times we will need to travel with all 3 kids. So now I am looking for a different car seat for DS that is more narrow/less bulky. DS is 4, about 37 lbs. He currently has a Britax Roundabout. I am looking into combination seats or booster seats. Not sure I am comfortable with a booster seat and not having him in a 5-point harness, even though they say 30+ lbs. Any recommendations on a more narrow carseat for DS? One I'm considering is Evenflo SecureKid, but not sure how much more narrow this is compared to Roundabout. TIA!
