Pregnant after IF

Pain lower right side

Hi ladies

I've been having a dull pain in the lower right hand side. I'm not sure if its my ovaries or appendicitis. Last night it got a little worse.

I've been constipated for 3 weeks (after ER). Having infrequent BM. I had to do (tmi alert) enema, milk of mag twice.

No fever. Dull pain in my ippen abdomen and a little pain on the lower left hand side too.

Help. I really don't want to go to hospital. I'm thinking of driking tons of water, taking a probiotics and eating lots of vegs today w ginger and garlic (says this helps w appendicitis).

Thank you

Re: Pain lower right side

  • Have you called your OB's or RE's after-hours #? It sounds to me like either constipation, gas, ovaries, or ligament pain. But I'd definitely call your doctor if you are that worried. Cramping in early pregnancy is very normal. Hope you feel better soon.

  • If you do have appendicitis you need to be seen by a doctor. That isn't something that can just be managed, the appendix has to come out! My grandfather had appendicitis and waited too long to see the doctor and it burst. This led to further complications including a weakened immune system and he died a few years later. Granted, he was in his 70's, but my point is that appendicitis isn't something you can just shrug off. I'm not trying to scare you, or worry you unnecessarily, I just want to make sure you take care of yourself! In all likelihood it's probably related to the constipation or swollen ovaries...but if you are worried it could be more just call your doc. That's what they are there for! I hope you start to feel better soon.

  • Thank you. I'll tell my RE on Monday morning. Pain has subsided as the day has progressed.
  • It may be round ligament pain. I had it a lot. The ligaments are relaxing in preparation to stretch to make room for the baby. That relaxation can cause pain.
