Dreams about ex-fiancé.

I've had 2 dreams now about my ex-fiancé and neither were sexual in any way. We dated for 2 years, 6 years ago, he was mentally abusive and kinda whinney, and I've had boyfriends since. I'd love to know what it means when you dream about an ex.

Last night I dreamt that my ex had found my house (not my house in real life), and even though my husband wasn't home, I let him in. He begged, whinned, and cried to get back together. I halfheartedly agreed. He started out being nice and sweet and telling me how much he missed me. When he'd made himself comfortable, he stared being a slob and getting a little demanding. As I started doing laundry (which included a small amount of his clothes), I was 100% regretting agreeing to get back together with him.
My husband came home and I quickly rushed to meet him before he saw my ex and started getting upset with me. I told him everything and how I'd agreed to get back together with my ex but I regretted it and was going to take it back.
It gets a little fuzzy after that but I know in the end we booted my ex out and I told him that I'd send what laundry I'd washed to him when they were done.

What the hell does that mean? I feel confused and feel really guilty about not telling my husband because I don't want him to worry or think I want to get back together with my ex....which I DON'T!

I think dreams about exes are very common--anytime, but especially during pregnancy with all the crazy hormones. I've had one and many other girls have too. It's nothing to feel guilty about--you can't control what you dream. It's not like you were head over heels for the guy in the dream, so I really wouldn't stress it. As for what it means, I have no idea! But I do know they are common and it doesn't necessarily mean you still have feelings for the guy or that you don't love your husband.

I'm no dream expert or anything but I wouldn't read too much in to it. I don't think it means that you want to get back together with your ex and I don't think you should feel guilty about not sharing your dream conents with your husband. And you're probably only dreaming about it again because you were maybe dwelling on it the first time. If it really was just a crazy dream and you really do feel guilty and can't let it go, then just tell him. If there's nothing there, I'm sure he knows that and would be understanding.

LOL. I'm sorry, but the way the dream ended is pretty funny.

Weird dreams are a pregnancy thing, you've got lots of changing hormones and it affects our minds even as we sleep. This won't be the last dream you have that's freaky or strange. Don't get too involved in it by trying to find a meaning or a "message" in the dream. Pregnancy dreams are whack.

I've had at least three maybe more of my ex fiancé as well. Our relationship and situation sounds extremely similar to yours even right down to the timeline. Mine have been a little more of me being attracted to him which always is unsettling but I notice mine are always when I'm feeling neglected from my husband. For example when he is busy with work and we haven't had a lot of time together. My mind seems it then jump to my ex when I sleep. Also when I visit my parents which is where I'm from and where we dated I have the dreams again. I try not to worry about them because when I'm awake I know damn well what's up and would never in a million years dream of getting back together with him even if my subconscious still insists on bringing him up.

I've had dreams with my ex in them,
Mostly all while pregnant. Some were about us being together again, but I'd feel guilty. Then they progressed to me telling him off and saying that I am married & pregnant now. Now he's just occasionally a supporting character. I think it's funny how they've progressed as I've stopped worrying about them.

I've had dreams about my ex numerous times!! It does make you feel guilty but at the same time, we are all happily married now so who cares!

It's fine; dreams are just dreams. I only feel guilty about them when I'm actually dreaming. In reality, none of them mean anything to me. If my dreams meant anything, I would be doomed. )

Pregnancy dreams are especially weird. I had one a week or two ago where I seduced Prince Charming (while pregnant, ha!). I was the other woman in a Disney film! Whatever, pregnancy brain.

I used to dream about my exes ALL THE TIME the first time I was pregnant. Sometimes they were just there in the background, other times they were a main player and I even dreamed about getting back together. It's actually one of the signs I *knew* I was pregnant this time before I got the two pink lines- I woke up from a dream about my ex and was like, "Welp, I guess I'm KU!".

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I have also dreamt about my ex and woke up feeling guilty. On the bright side you ended up kicking your ex to the curb. So maybe that was your subconscious was telling you that you made the right decision! Fortunately for us we're all happily married so no matter what weird dream we may end up having, at the end of the day we're all on the right path. One that lead us all to welcome our LO's into the world

Last night I had a dream that my baby was actually my ex-boyfriend's, not my husbands . I realized I'd have to marry my ex, so that the baby would have its father, even though we were totally incompatible and I knew it didn't make sense - that I should just stay with my husband, but it seemed like I had to. 

Needless to say, didn't tell DH about this dream. So glad it's very, very much not reality!

I haven't had any dreams about the ex but I prolly will tonight after reading this thread.

Don't feel guilty, it was a weird dream.

Lol- do not feel guilty- dreams are weird and don't 'mean' anything- you are unconscious and it's basically your brain taking out the trash.  I would not tell your DH about this dream.  If you dream about having sex with Brad Pitt, don't tell him that either. :-$

I've had dreams about my ex all the time which is pretty weird considering we were 15....I've been with my now hubby since I was 16 (almost 10 years!) I always chalk it up to sort of that who are they now kind of thing because most of the time in the dream we just kind of see each other as adults and its always awkward. I have had some really weird dreams that my DH left me and I start dating and then realize its a little odd to date someone new since I'm pregnant! Hahaha crazy pregnancy hormones! I've even had dreams about being a tiny fairy actress? Wtf?!? One night I dreamed I was floating down a river through the city looking for my ship?

Ive had 2 dreams about getting back with my ex and one about getting together with a celeb, but in the end of all i was sad that i wasnt with my DH. Then i woke up and was extremely happy! Didnt tell DH about them tho!

If I searched for meaning behind my crazy dreams and took them to heart, I would be in therapy. Don't stress about weird pregnancy dreams.
