Northside Womens Specialists?

I had repeated awful experiences at north fulton womens specialists! literally in the middle of me asking my doctor questions, a nurse knocked on the door and said "were ready" and my doctor said "i have another patient under anesthesia, i have to go". and it woud be excusable (i guess) if this had been the first time, but it wasnt...this has been every single visit. no questions answered, and a rushed visit.

anway...i am in the process of transfewrring to northisde womens specialists, my first appt is nov 23 for my anatomy scan, but now i go on yelp and see really bad reviews of the office. so...im wondering, has anyone had a good experience here? or do you know of any offices associated with northside that you could reccommend?

Re: Northside Womens Specialists?

  • I've got no experience with either you mentioned, but I go to OB/GYN of Atlanta and they are basically next door to Northside.  I transferred to them during my first pregnancy and will be using them again for this one. The group is a mix of OBs and midwives, so you can really find what will work best for you.
  • I also go to OB/GYN of Atlanta.  I've only had two appointments with them so far, but I feel comfortable with them.  I was going to Atlanta Women's Specialists, but I wasn't a fan, so I switched to OB/GYN of Atlanta.  But, that was just my personal preference.  Some women say they love Atlanta Women's Specialists.

  • We are going to Haven OB/GYN and love it. Dr. Bryan Jewell is great and Leah (NP) is awesome!
We have only been there two weeks but, we love it!!!
  • I go to northside women's specialists and it's been fine.
  • I had a great experience with Northside Womens Specialists.  My favorite was Dr. Sangvai, she delivered my daughter.  I also liked Dr. Weinstein, Dr. Purdy, Dr. Diamond and Dr. Wetter.
  • I currently go to North Atlanta Women's Specialist. I would have to say it really depends on the Dr. you choose. I saw Dr. Petchenik and she was terrible. Felt like she wasn't listening to anything I asked and could care less about me because I wasn't pregnant at the time. The next year I went I saw Dr. Gumer and he was MUCH better! I am going tomorrow for a confirmation appointment with him. What dr are you seeing on the 23rd? I have heard good things about Dr. Graham as well.

  • I go to Atlanta Women Specialists Dr SMith delivered our first so hopefully she can again! Love the practice all the doctors are great.
  • I used NWS and loved them, BUT the company they use for their billing has been a nightmare to deal with to the point that I am changing OB offices because of it. I did receive wonderful care. I loved the midwives especially.

  • I found a doctor's office that delivers at Northside and I love them. Roswell OB- GYN-they have four locations and I go to the one in Alpharetta. They are always prompt and they are great at answering your questions. They have really looked out for me.
  • I already answered this, but I just had a really good experience with nws. I was admitted to the hospital for monitoring at 29 weeks and dr rush and dr Weinstein were great at helping me understand what was going on, as were dr eller and dr lipscomb from mfs (the mfm that is a part of nws.). I really did feel like I was in good care with them.

Like a pp mentioned, the company they use for billing can be a pain though. I've had to make many phone calls to them and to my insurance to work things out.
  • i had a terrible experience with northside women's specialist.  i ended up changing to another ob office because several of the blood tests they said they did for my husband and i were never actually ordered.  based on a rather generic blood test, they came to conclusions about my husband and i, recommending we meet with their genetics counselor.  my appointment with the genetics counselor started an hour late because she was trying to find the correct tests to discuss the results and how it will affect our baby.  we came to find out those tests were never ordered.  the genetics counselor advised that from the generic blood test, there was no reason for the assumptions they made and no reason for me to see her.  there were other small issues that came up, but this incident is certainly what made me so upset i had to switch.
