1st Trimester

Baby measuring a week behind?

I had my first ultrasound the other day. According to my LMP I should be 10w3d, but according to the measurements the baby only measures 9w2d. Everything else looked great. There was a strong heartbeat, the baby was moving around, and super cute. Do I have something to worry about? I feel weird that I am "behind."

Re: Baby measuring a week behind?

  • First question: Do you know when you ovulated?

If you ovulated a little later than the 14th day of your cycle you might be right on track. From what you said about a strong heartbeat and he baby moving, I wouldn't worry.

  • No, I don't know for sure when I ovulated. It's possible that's it. It's just so weird because I got a positive pregnancy test really early! But, maybe I was just lucky and it managed to pick up trace amounts of hCG days after implantation.

  • Hi, the same thing happened to me. My doctor said it is nothing to worry about at all
  • Same here, but I have longer cycles so I know I ovulate later than is considered "normal" and than they do the dating based on.  No worries!
