period after d&c

I finally started my period 14 weeks after d&c. I was certain something was terribly wrong....thinking that I perhaps had uterine scarring (ashermans syndrome) from d&c procedure.
Is it rare for your body to take so long to restart?
My period was crazy heavy with very intense cramps for two days!! Total period length was 7 days. My normal is 5 days.
Anyone else experience this or have thoughts/opinions?

    I am so sorry for your loss. I do not have experience with this. I had the d&ce (how my hospital refers to it) yesterday. My instructions say to call my doctor if my period does not start within 8 weeks. I would definitely give my doctor a call to see what they think. Hope you find some answers soon , hugs.

    I didn't bleed much after procedure either..really light for 2 days.
    The only thing I can think of that delayed my restart was that I was extremely stressed! Devastated to be exact. Trouble sleeping, not eating(stomach in knots).
    It's good to know that your cycles took a bit to find normal after you started....so if I experience the same...maybe I won't worry as much!
