DD is in a "big girl bed"

Last night was the second night Lindley slept in the twin bed instead of her crib.  The first night she woke up a time or two a little disoriented, but last night she slept through the night.  We decided she may be ready after she slept great without a crib when we were travelling for Christmas.  I think this is going to work and maybe we won't need a second crib.  I do need to get her a toddler pillow though.

Wow, that's great! My DD is also a May 07 baby and we're thinking of transitioning her in a few months.  I'm due with #2 in Feb. and don't want to change too much of her normal routine, so I think we'll wait unitl after the baby comes.  But it's good to hear your DD is doing well with it!

Glad to hear it's going well!  DS is also a May 07 baby and we just switched him about a month ago.  He is doing just fine and I'm really glad he did it.  He loves to go in his room and read books on his bed or just play more in his big boy room now

DD is also a May '07 and I am due in June with #2 and I was just wondering about going straight to a twin bed. Good to hear that is working for you. I think we are going to try around Feb to do the same thing. Do you have those rails on the side? ( i can't think of the correct name)

We do have a rail on the side, the bed is pushed up against the corner of the room, and we have a big pillow at the foot of the bed (where the rail ends) so she won't go off the bed that way.  We were a little nervous about doing this since it is a rather high twin bed.  I'm not worried about her trying to get down on her own since she's great about going down for naps and bedtime, I was just concerned about her accidentally falling out at night.  She moves around a lot in her sleep but I think we've got her corralled in there pretty well.
