Real. Honestly I hate fake because I hate straightening/fluffing the branches out every year. We had an awesome fake tree but it was so full that by the time I was done my arms would be covered in scratches. We now have a tradition of going and picking out a tree every year and I love it. I don't have a preference in look/smell, just like the activity of going and not having to mess with the branches.

we did real trees for the longest time (as kids) then one year we went fake and my parents never really addressed the issue. When we were older we asked why and they told us about all the bugs that hide in them *shudders* fake from then on out.
Fake all the way, mostly because I like white ones. Also, I have too many allergies.
Andplusalso, I want fake boobs bad. Need them.

::adds people who have fake trees to post it:: its gotta be real. I also need to physically cut it down--no getting a tree at Walmart shit.
Take me off your damn post it!! Ok, unless I was on it for something else.
I cannot help my fake tree, due to allergies
Take an allergy pill. :P my bil is allergic to real trees too so they get a fake tree. I tell dh all the time if he gets an allergy that I'd have to file for divorce. Ha. That's like a deal breaker to me.

It's actually both Alexis and I that wouldn't be able to deal with a real tree. I take enough allergy meds! I could probably suffer through for a few weeks, but would never make her. (and she's also on daily meds). We're a mess. But it doesn't bother me. I love our tree
Real all the way! We have allergies, but just keep up with allergy meds while it's in the house (luckily between meds and willingness to suffer a little we manage).
Real boobs too. I don't think anyone would choose a 34L!

I told my kids, in the womb, that they weren't allowed to be allergic.
Last year ds broke out with a rash all over his body two days after we brought our tree home. It ended up being a virus that went away in about a week but we initially thought it was an allergic reaction to the tree. I told dh if that was the case we would have to rehome him on Craigslist. Yeah, I have a really inappropriate sense of humor. :P
Both boobs and trees.
We have a fake one on the dining room because I live being able to see a lit tree from the street, and a real in the living room where we spends most of our time. The kids each have a fake one in their room as well.
As for boobs they are real now, but after I am doing bfing they will be lifted and possible implanted!
Fake trees, three of them. Real boobs until later.
The one year we used a fake (borrowed my ILs old one) it shed as many needles as the real ones! It was harder to set up, harder to take down, shed as many needles as a real, looked terrible and didn't smell!
Real.
If we didn't take an old timey train to cut one down in the woods. I'd have that puppy on my bike in a second. Maybe I can talk amynumbers into letting me bike hers home.
I haz the jealousy that you have a train to the woods to cut down a tree. We just have tree farms. Before we had kids, dh and I would bring a flask of peppermint schnapps and baileys mixed together and walk around for like three hours picking a tree. Lol. The lack of booze and kids does cut down the time dramatically.
DH and I used to get real trees. One year we thought we'd fill up our front room with an 11ft one. Every night I would pull in from work and it had fallen against the wall. The next year DH dropped a smaller one on my head while putting it in the stand. Have you ever tried to get sap out of your hair? The next year I shocked myself stringing lights. After that we went fake and never looked back.

Add the booze back in and give the kids some sugar before you go...3 hours will fly by in no time.

100% this. I love real trees - I love everything about about them, even the mess. And I hate fake trees... I just don't get it.

You need a special base for an 11 ft real tree .
We get an 8 foot. I love it.
We seriously had no idea what we were doing. We must have looked like fools fighting with those trees.
Re: Real or Fake?
We do a fake tree.
But this reminds me, the Hunger Games movie is coming out in a couple weeks. (because of real or not real?)
We have done both but I prefer Fake. (pre-lit)
We will do real when/if little man wants to go cut one down and do (help) with keeping it watered.
1/12/13 DD was born
4/9/16 DS was born
9/17 CP

And we need to have a fake tree due to allergies. But we have one of the most real looking fake trees ever- I absolutely love it.

I was just kidding about the allergy meds.
