On Sunday, we went to Albertson's to get stuff to make sandwiches.
They had huge pumpkins for sale. We looked for a small pumpkin for DS and there were none. I went to the far corner of the produce to get another squash that looks like a pumpkin. I encouraged DH to help me look and DH found a nice gold acorn squash that looks like a pumpkin! DS loved it!
We went home and DS colored the squash with markers.
Next time, mama will get a small pumpkin early. I can't get past the guilt that I waited too long and got a squash.
DS1 is officially drinking out of a sippy! We are using those take and toss ones and he is doing so well with them!
To my boys: I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
I'm diving in, because I'll be travelling tomorrow.
My birthday was this past weekend. DD1 knew exactly what she wanted to get me: a purple necklace. DH took her shopping and gave her a few nudges, and she picked out a silver heart with a big, sparkly purple crystal in the middle. (DD2 picked out matching enormous purple sparkly earrings, lol.)
She was SO excited to give it to me, and I've been wearing it, and her little face just lights up when she notices, and she tells me that she's so happy I like my necklace. SO sweet.
Now I know how my mom felt when I gave her a huge set of sparkly red beads, a looooong time ago. Kid jewelry, man. Oy. Totally not my style but I love how happy it makes her when I wear it!
DS had a practice meet in gymnastics this weekend in front of judges. He was only nervous for the first event (floor). He did amazing! He loves high bar and rings which is perfect for his SPD. He got a metal so he is hooked. (DS has SPD, ADHD and anxiety).
DD1 is kicking ass with scissors these days . She's cutting out lots of different shapes without assistance, and she no longer gets confused about how to hold them. The OT was really impressed when they worked on it today.
A girl in DS1's preschool class declared that he is her best friend. Three year old hyperbole for sure, but a far cry from the days that kids would come up and tell me "L is naughty" over the summer.
I had a cute Halloween convo with dd this morning. I asked her if she was excited that today was Halloween and she said yea. I asked her what do we do on Halloween and she said candy. She's been walking around the house with her pumpkin, putting all the small toys she can find and saying an approximation of trick or treat (I think, haha). Super cute.
