what's in LO's crib?

with all this sleep talk I've been meaning to ask, what's in your LO's crib. Have you introduced a pillow and blanket? If so, when. If not, when do you plan to? I cannot remember what I did with Keagan, but its irrelevant because he still throws the blankets off as soon as we close the door and most nights just puts the pillow over his face.

Re: what's in LO's crib?

  • Aidan is still in his sleepsack - so is Alastair.
Both have several stuffies and a blanket in their cribs.

  • Just a light A&A blanket, water sippy, and seahorse.

  • Lu sleeps in a sleep sack. Other than that she has a lovie/blankie and then I drape a blanket over the side of the crib, which she sometimes pulls down onto her. I've thought about putting some stuffed animals or a pillow, etc, but she sleeps really well and I kinda feel like if it ain't broke...
  • M&M has lots of Paci's in her crib, sometimes a light blanket which she throws out of the crib anyway and her small soft baby doll.

  • ~10 pacifiers, a blanket and a teddy.

  • A few stuffed animals and her fleece blanket. She has had the fleece blanket with her since she was 6 months old in our room. It is definitely her lovey!

  • Finn sleeps on his stomach and has a blanket that he kicks off about 10 seconds after I leave the room. The is a small pillow in there but it is on the other end of the bed. He is obviously my child. I always sleep on my stomach. I can't fall asleep on my back.
  • Pillow, blanket made of minky and flannel that's pretty big, three loveys, several pacifiers, a few stuffed animals (opposite end from the pillow) , and whatever Ethan threw in there for Sean to play with ;)

  • Nothing. I put her in a heavy sleeper if it's cold but we haven't introduced a blanket or pillow. When it gets even colder I'll probably get sleep sacks for blankets.

  • DS has a blanket or comforter depending on the weather and his stuffed Mickey Mouse (total AW here we bought it on our last trip to Disney because we knew we were going to start TTC the next month, so I love that it's his favorite!!)

  • B has had a blanket in his crib forever now. I can't even remember when we introduced it. Other than that himself. He sleeps in footy PJ's.

  • A+A lovie, about 17 pacifiers, a stuffed Nemo, and recently a fleece blanket with the satin edging.  There is a fish tank soother attached to the side that he likes pushing the buttons for, and one of those double sided crib books attached to one rail.  He plays with that when he wakes up until we come get him - otherwise he screams bloody murder.

I just started using the blanket because it got cold here, and he woke up with chilly hands three times each night twice in a row.  I was a little nervous at first, but he does pretty well with it.

  • DD sleeps in fleece footie pj's because it's already so cold, and during naps I throw in her enormous caterpillar because she loves cuddling with him.  At night, it's just her and her blanket.  We have one of those bears that does the heartbeat, songs, etc but we never use it.  It's just attached to the crib because she likes to snuggle up to it sometimes.

  • LO has a blanket, and her Violet dog.  That is all.  As it gets colder I think we will have to do footie PJ's and a heavier blanket because her room is very hard to keep warm.

  • The post about Christmas made me start our list and I decided last night to get Leo a pillow for Christmas. We gave one to James around 13 or 14 months. Leo is still in a sleep sack so no blankets yet, he does get one at daycare for nap. He sleeps with a Jellycat teddy bear and a paci or two. The end of his crib has a little basket with some books and toys for him to play with when he wakes. I did that with James too and it worked out well.

  • She wears a sleep sack, has the FP seahorse, 6 packs, a lovey and her teddy bear. All of the above are usually tossed out of the crib when she's falling asleep (minus the one paci in her mouth) but the crib fairy stops by after she's out and replaces them so she has them during the night as needed. She might like a pillow, but I think if I tried to use  a blanket it would just end up being kicked off and she'd be cold, so I'm sticking with the sleep sacks for a while.

  • 2 blankets, cloud b giraffe, and the seahorse. Lately she has been dragging her blankets out of her crib so I have to round them up before bed. I think I have a Linus on my hands.

  • It varies.  Today it is a Cabbage patch baby, 2 lovies, blanket, and pillow.

@hmp1 that sounds like a great idea, maybe it would buy me a few more precious minutes of sleep. Do you hang the basket from the side of the crib or just sit it down in the corner?
It's just sitting in the corner.

  • A lovey that she ignores.

That's it. Kid moves around like a maniac. I tried a blanket once last week and when she woke up it was wrapped around her belly like a belt. I think we will hold off for a while longer.

  • A lovie, and sometimes a fleece blanket, though she moves around too much before falling asleep to ever keep it on her.  I probably need to buy some warmer PJs or a sleep sack now that it's getting colder at night.
  • They wear cotton sleep sacks with feet.  They each sleep with a paci, seahorse, and stuffie.  All 3 items are usually on the floor by morning.

  • Infant pillow, which she occasionally uses correctly, blanket, FP seahorse, 3-4 pacis and her lovie.

  • Nothing.  She sleeps in a sleep sack still.  She moves way to much for a blanket and it gets to cold for just jammies.
I have not even thought about a pillow, mainly because I don't sleep with one.  I guess I should look into it.

  • Cotton lightweight blanket, supersoft furry blanket, her favorite stuffed bunny, Lapierre Lapin. She sleeps in a sleepsack because she kicks blankets off. The blankets are more for cuddling.

I'll have to figure out how to make this work for us. My kid would probably end up with basket marks on his face in the morning. Ha.
Neither of my kids move around the crib much, they stay in the top half. Really the only problem is James tends to collect things in his basket over time because he brings more and more stuff to bed and I don't take it out. Sometimes his crib resembles a toy box in the morning if he dumps everything out. Leo only has like 5 or 6 things in his basket.
