If the sore throat is from post nasal drip, wet a wash cloth with very warm water, use as a compress on your nose while massaging your sinuses. I think this worked even better for me than Sudafed. Do it a couple times a day. Drink warm beverages (decaf tea with honey) and keep your throat warm with a scarf.
