2under 2 how many cd?

DS is 9 mos. I just found out I am pg again. Hope will be approx 17 mos. when this baby is born. How many diapers is a "comfortable" # for a toddler and infant? I do not plan on buying more until my NT scan but I am trying to budget for this. Thanks ladies

Congrats!  Your little guy is such a cutie!

I haven't ever had two in CDs, so don't have much advice to offer other that to remember that you will have to wash all the diapers at some point.  I think a lot of moms end up keeping their stash about the same size but washing every day instead of every other day.

Mine are 20 months apart. In the beginning I didn't need to have a bunch to start off with since ds2 was wearing the newborn stash of ds1. We did laundry every other day since having 2 so close in age I couldn't do diapers every day along with household laundry. We had to buy more diapers because I put the boys in daycare for a few months and they needed to be in pockets/aios otherwise I probably wouldn't have needed as many. Now ds2's stash is larger than ds1's ever was lol.
I needed about 40-50 diapers (rough estimate) for both kids which includes prefolds for home and laundry day prior to ds1 potty training.

Well. I sold my newborn stash we were not expecting to have more lol....surprise!

I bought 27 Kawaii pure and naturals and 2 dozen baboo prefolds to use to stuff them (DS2 is a heavy wetter). We needed that many in the first 12 weeks to wash every other day but now not so much. It's still nice to have breathing room so if things are crazy folding and stuffing can be delayed a day. My DS1 was 26 months when #2 was born and he doesn't go through that many diapers so we wouldn't have needed so many technically but even at 8lbs at birth, DS2 wouldn't have fit in our one size.

Do you have smaller or larger babies or how long until your first fit into OS diapers? Looking back my boys were able to start fitting in some of the OS diapers around 6-8 weeks. So in your situation I would maybe price out the differences in price to do a newborn trial vs buying newborn stash and just focus on buying the OS diapers for when #2 is bigger. Or hit up some of the diaper resale spots for newborn stashes to help save on $$.

I just want to minimize the possibility of spreading issues (like yeast) and would like to troubleshoot with one kid at a time. Plus washing all your diapers every day will result in you needing new diapers sooner. Or at least needing to repair what you have.

Wait, I never thought of this...do I need more diapers/a second pail and liner? I was planning to keep the stashes separate so as not to have to undo rise snaps, but I was going to throw them in the same diaper pail and wash them all together....

DS fit into OS at about 5 weeks. He is the chunkier of all my kids. I am contemplating just doing a diaper service for the first month (20.00 per week). Or I will just order Kawaii pn.
