She was super understanding & said to give him a full dose of Tylenol right now, apply cool washclothes, and do another dose of Tylenol at 4am, followed by Motrin at 7am, Tylenol at 10am, etc.
I'm calling as soon as their office opens in the am to get him in tomorrow to be seen.
She said the fever itself isn't dangerous, but we do need to treat it aggressively to get it down tonight. Obviously if it keeps going up, we need to call back for further instructions.
Thanks girls -- I wanted to call as soon as that scary number popped up, but was trying to follow their instructions & needed a good shove.
Re: So I called the pedi...
that is good. Fevers are our body's way of fighting infection, so it is really a good thing, unless it is really high. I would have been terrified, if that was DS.
Let us know how his appt goes tomorrow.
That's good. Hope he's better soon.
I hope he feels better soon!
My son had a fever of 105.6 and he ended up getting roseola. Look out for a rash once his fever breaks.

In my bag: Nikon D90; 35mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8 macro (my fave), Lensbaby Composer with macro extensions. BFP after 13 cycles and one ectopic. Lost left tube 5/19/10.
It's funny to me that pedi's all seem to have different attitudes to fever. DS had a 105.6 fever one time and she did say that if I couldn't get it to come down and/or he was altered to bring him to the ER (he was throwing up tylenol so she said to try a bath). But then she said to just let him sleep. Don't wake him to medicate. If he's sleeping, he's comfortable and that's the only reason we treat fevers. 107/108 is where brain damage becomes an issue.
It's hard to know who to believe. I hope your little guy feels better today.
