Vomiting before labor?

I'm 39w and last night after falling asleep, I randomly had to run to the bathroom to vomit, and vomited quite a bit. I read that some women have this and some other signs about a day before they go into labor. I did not have vomiting with my first when I went into labor, just curious if many of you had this soon before you went into labor. I'm scheduled for an induction tomorrow due to PIH, so I'd be very happy if I went into labor on my own!

Re: Vomiting before labor?

  • I vomited only once I was in labor, at transition - 7cm. I think that's when it happens for most women.

  • When I had my DD last year, I vomited constantly for the entire day prior to when they would admit me...so I was only 1 o 2 cm then!! Awful!
With my DS, I never threw up once. It's strange how different labors can be.

  • I threw up twice during labor. I was between 4 and 7 cm.
  • I vomited out the window of our Explorer for a good half a mile when I transitioned...

Never heard of the day before, but I know people get diarrhea so makes sense?

  • Thanks for the responses. Well, I guess maybe it didn't mean much since since today has been pretty uneventful. I had read that women can have nausea/vomiting/diarrhea about a day before they go into labor so I got excited.
