Dog getting clingy already?

We didn't have our dog yet during my last pregnancy, but I swear our dog already knows something is up. It seems that he's always underfoot now, and he's laying his head on my feet or my belly pretty frequently - something he's never done before. I don't know... A few months from now I may have a constant companion.

  • Wow, I feel like such an idiot!! Until you posted this I couldn't figure out why my cat was being so annoyingly clingy today. Duh! She was exactly like this last time. Animals are weird.

  • My lab is super clingy too, last night DH and his friend were watching a game and I went to bed early, I left the dogs in the living room with them. DH said about an hour after I disappeared our lab started going crazy he wanted to go out then back in and then he started head butting every closed door in the house looking for me..... when DH finally let him into the bedroom he calmed down right away and went to sleep under my side of the bed.

  • My beagle always has been clingy but never to the degree she is now, I am 8 weeks so far and she's been a major cuddle bug lately. I feel bad bc I try to get comfortable and she just immediately jumps on me to sleep on me so I get annoyed sometimes. But I let her cuddle anyway bc she's such a sweety, she'll always be my first baby :)
  • I mentioned this in the cat thread to, but my favorite cat already knows, we're sure. He has to be next to me at all times. And while he usually lays right next to me if I'm in bed or lying on the sofa, now he has to lay on my belly. He actually pushed my book aside earlier today so he could lay on my belly instead of in my lap.

It's really adorable. I keep wondering if the baby will be able to hear him purring at some point. (I'm only 6 weeks.)

  • Yup. Dog at my feet constantly, and she's over 50 lbs so it's not like I can step over her. Ha ha. She was like this with my first preg too.
  • My dog was on top of me ALL the time when I was pregnant with DD.  I just started noticing her following me around again this week.  Dogs have great intuition :)

  • My non snuggly dog has been stuck to me like glue, didn't even consider it was the pregnancy. This might get old fast.

  • My oldest corgi doesn't want my hubby anywhere near me. And I feel so awful that I agree with him lol
