Nbr: Meds

I know some people may not want to answer this, but is there anyone currently taking any kind of antidepressant/anxiety meds? I was taking Celexa a while back and now I have a script for Zoloft. Does anyone take either one of these? Which do you like?

Re: Nbr: Meds

  • I am taking zoloft.  I've never taken anything else.  It works well for me and keeps the bad thoughts at bay. :)

  • I love Zoloft. I don't have any side effects, take the lowest dose, and it works very well.

  • I take Effexor XR. I don't recommend it, as it is very hard to get off of. Terrible withdraw symptoms. However, it is the only thing that works for my severe anxiety. I have tried a couple of others. PM me if you want to chat about it.

  • I used Celexa for about 9 months, went off of it in May and I'm about to go back on it - for some situational anxiety.

  • I was on lexapro for almost 3 years for OCD. Is celexa the generic form of lexapro? If I am remembering correctly I was on celexa for a month before switching to lexapro.
I switched because I had crazy vivid dreams on celexa. I was in college and literally dreamed that I accidently killed someone and called my parents ready to turn myself into the police. Apparently vivid dreams that you can't seperate from reality are a side effect of celexa.

  • @MeredithML crazy vivid dreams are a side effect of Effexor too. I hate it, but I am too chicken to try anything else when this is working.

  • I'm not currently on anything but had some issues with anxiety several years ago and was on citalopram. I really liked it and think it kind of re-wired my brain. I haven't had any issues since. I was on it for about a year and a half and stopped it on my own, which I know isn't recommended, but it got to the point where I felt I no longer needed it and just wanted to be done with it. The only side effect is that I think I gained weight with it.
