Asthma treatment while pregnant

Did anybody ask the doc if it's ok to use a rescue inhaler or nebulizer during pregnancy? I didn't think to ask when I made my appt.

  • I used albuterol when I had walking pneumonia while pregnant. I was in my third tri, not sure if that makes a difference. Ask your doc.

  • My doctor told me when i was pregnant that it was ok. It is better for you to breath and get oxygen to your baby then if you are unable to breath. I use to be on albuterol only while I was pregnant, but in the last year my asthma has gotten worse and im on an actual medication (symbicort) and I have been reading alot and even my regular doctor said that it should be ok while TTC.

  • Ignore my siggy, need to change it.

  • Fixed it!

Hope you find the answer you are looking for, but most importantly talk to your doctor!!

  • When I saw my PCP, she said it was fine to take my albuterol inhaler.  I don't use my Advair (regular medication) unless I find myself using my albuterol too frequently, but she said if I didn't need it, it'd be better to have less stuff in my system.

    I'd talk to your doc.
