Another limbo u/s post- T&P requested

I had my first u/s today. The gestational sac measured 5w2d, which means I ovulated on CD21. I know I ovulate CD17-21, and I wasn't paying attention at all this cycle, so it isn't impossible. I just expected if I was at that point we'd at least see the beginnings of a yolk sac.

I go back in a week, my OB offered to continue checking betas and I turned it down, just too much of a stress analyzing those things. My OB and my husband are telling me to be optimistic, but I'm finding it tougher to do.

I've had 5w u/s for 3 of my previous pregnancies and there is usually something, definitely NOT a heartbeat, so I didn't expect that, just something. And it also means I got a 9DPO midday BFP.

But thanks guys for the encouragement! I appreciate it, it definitely helps.

I had my first u/s today at 5w6d and we did see a flicker of a HB, but my RE did say it was probably one of the earliest she has seen. Things are changing so fast this early, a couple days make all the difference, fx for your u/s next week!

This is why I opt out of betas and early ultrasound because in my experience they rarely are reassuring and often just cause more worry. With DS2 I measured a full 2 weeks behind. He caught up a few days later but based on that first ultrasound I was certain that it was not meant to be. There are so many variables this early on. Big hugs!

I am in a similar stressful situation. I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks 2 days and we saw the gestational sac and yolk sac, but no baby or heartbeat. The dr gave me a 50/50 chance of viability. Trying my best to pray and trust in God's plan. He is bigger than any medical test and I'm praying for a miracle for anyone in this position.
