DH and I will most likely be in the NICU with this baby girl over Christmas. We wanted to be a blessing to other families in the NICU during the holidays. What kind of small gifts can we start collecting now to make little gifts?

I think small snacks would be appreciated especially to nursing moms. Maybe a small blanket or stuffed animal? Something cuddly. Or you can make ornaments to commemorate babies first Christmas even if it is in the NICU. I think just knowing someone cared enough to think of other families in the NICU is special.
The thought of someone like yourself doing this for other moms and families with their baby(ies) in the NICU is so special. I like the Christmas ornament and definitely small snacks. You could also do little notepads/journals to hand out. Gift bag ideas like: fruit snacks, granola bars, peanut packs, gum and chapstick and a kleenex pack are just some random ideas that popped into my head. God Bless you for your thoughtfulness!
My mom made micro preemie clothes ( they folded over and velcroed so that they could be worn over tubes and wires) for DD and made several batches for the unit. At her NICU reunion (a year later) the RNs and a few parents were still talking about them. The fabric wasn't expensive and I loved having DD dressed before she was big enough for clothes.
Thank you ladies! I am starting to collect cracker packs and snacks to make a big basket for the waiting room area and one for the nurses that will be there on Christmas day. I decided to have my mom make all different size preemie hats in Christmas colors and I love the ornament idea. I am very excited to hopefully put a smile on some faces because I know its very hard to be in the NICU but must be even harder over the holidays! Thank you for the suggestions.
