NCDR- Starting solids and poop.

He only gets a little bit of solids and still nurses the same amount as before. He is now not as regular and I think it's making him uncomfortable. Should I offer water in a cup with his solids? I noticed he isn't peeing as much as he used to, sometimes. Ideas?

  • DS is EBF, and our pedi said water isn't necessary until at least 10months. He is not as regular perhaps, but when he does go, it's not hard and dry. There is a wide range of normal for the breastfed baby.

  • I remember being advised to offer water after baby has had solids. He only took a few sips at a time, but I think that was enough.
  • Water. I messed up in the beginning and wasn't giving her enough water with solids and she was having lots of constipation problems. She only drinks an ounce or two a day still though.
