quitting job...now what??

So I pretty much just have till the end of this month of work. I really don't want to quit but right now it's something that has to happen. My husband will be having surgery beginning of November and I will be having to take care of him while he recovers. I was planning on leaving work a couple of weeks before my due date (December 11) anyway. The only thing is, i'm use to working and not to sure what I could do to pass time. Any suggestions???? I don't want to just feel like i'm not contributing financially or anything else.

  • You're quitting your job whilst you're pregnant and DH is ill? That's a question and not a criticism bty

  • Is it really necessary to quit?  Could you just take FMLA instead, to take care of YH while he's recovering?

  • I got laid off of my job at 33 weeks pregnant. I have never not worked, only during my 6 week maternity leave with DD. I have been preparing my house for LOs arrival to help pass the time. I have been deep cleaning a room or two (depending on size) each week and focusing on getting the house deep cleaned. I am also home with DD more now that she is not going to daycare every day like before so we have been hitting the potty training hard. I also take naps every day. As much as it sucked losing my job, it has been kind of a blessing. I am wrapping up some classes before LO comes and I have pregnancy induced hypertension so some stress has been relieved since losing my job and my BP has been staying stable.

You should be able to take FLMA because of your husbands illness but if you're wanting to quit your job for other reasons it sounds like you will have your hands full with your husband and new baby.
