I am so upset right now. My dr called and told me that my hormones are low. I am in menopause. I am 38 . I feel broken right now. She wanted me to send a specialist for option but she said that the chance of getting pregnant is low.
I am so sorry for your news... Don't waste time...Run to an RE!! Good luck!

Did she say what hormones and what numbers they were at? I would definitely go to an RE with that information because in infertility speak it might be DOR or POF (Diminished ovarian reserve or Pre Ovarian Failure) and while it's still a hard diagnosis to take - and RE is much more equiped with how to move forward. (((HUGS))) I know that had to be hard to hear.
An RE is a reproductive endocrinologist. Some are lucky enough to have coverage, but others pay out of pocket. Some have at least a little coverage. I highly recommend having at least the initial consulation and seeing what other types of testing needs to occur. Some of the testing is cheap. For example, a semen analysis was like $150 at my clinic and I live in an area with a high cost of living.
I'm so sorry I definitely agree with the other ladies, you should consider seeing an RE. My insurance doesn't cover anything, at all, but the testing part was very reasonably priced!

So I went the ob/gyn on 11/14. I am in perimenapause. The gave me something to make me have a period. I took all of it. 2 wks late no period. I called they refereed me to a fertility clinic. Money we don't have now. Then yesterday ( 12/4) I got what I believe is a period. Now they told me to take the clomid day 5-9.
Has anyone used this before and does it work?
So the fertility clinic is where you would see an RE. You really should call them ASAP. They are the experts in getting women pregnant. They are also going to do a semen analysis to make sure there are no issues there. Even if you do respond well to clomid, it still wouldn't work if there are any male factor issues. If you do go ahead with clomid, you will still need monitoring during the cycle in the form of bloodwork and translational ultrasounds to see how you are spending to the drug. Overstimulation is less of a risk with peri menopause, but any doctor needs to know your response in order to accurately treat future cycles. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.

Did you check to see if you have any insurance coverage for IF? You really need to go to a RE. Good luck to you.
