Seeing the doctor this week and I'm just trying to prepare myself haha. I don't remember at what point I went on insulin last time but my after meal numbers have been a little elevated lately while my fasting is still very good.
For some reason in thinking they wait until fasting is elevated before putting you on insulin....?
They typically are looking for a pattern of high numbers. If your after meal numbers are consistently elevated, that would be enough for my endo to start insulin.

That's the problem I had. My fasting numbers were good. But when I tested 1 hour after each meal they would be high. If they were consistently elevated longer than 2-3 days I always called my doctor and/or diabetes educator.
