1st Trimester

drinking water

I am just under 6 weeks and have been drinking water nonstop for about a week and a half, especially from mid-morning to late afternoon... is this normal? I'm not surprised that I have to make trips to the bathroom more often given how much I'm drinking, but before I was pregnant I really wasn't a water drinker. Now I feel like I can't stop. Anyone else experience this?

Re: drinking water

  • GOOD! You are supposed to be drinking more water when you are pregnant so its not a bad thing to be craving it. I on the other hand have to force myself to drink water as it tastes funny to me now that I am pregnant, when I used to LOVE water.

yes! Water tastes awful to me now and actually makes me want to throw up! I have been flavoring it with lemon.

To the origin poster, consider yourself lucky :)

  • Yes, I have to trick myself into drinking water because I hate it so much right now.  I've tried lemons, limes,  a little sugar, fruit juice...and the latest, a splash of Gatorade.  If the water tastes good to you, drink up and know you're doing a good thing!

  • That's great! I hate water and I wish I wanted to drink more. More water means more oxygen flow for your baby!!!

    It's a BOY
