And I can't believe it! My water broke Sunday morning at 5am and unfortunately I didn't go into labor right away despite doing everything possible (nipple stimulation, sex, walking, etc).
My midwife was ok with waiting though and the plan was for us to come to L&D at 5am on Monday if labor didn't progress. Well around 11:30 pm Sunday the contractions started and were fast and furious. I called the midwife and she wanted me to come in since my water had broken so long before. So we called the doula and rode to the hospital, which was so uncomfortable by the way.
I get to the hospital and get checked and I'm at 3 and 80% effaced, definitely not where I wanted to be since I wanted to deliver naturally. Contractions are so painful at this point but we walk the halls and I eventually get into the tub. At this point I'm in so much pain and really start to doubt myself. Because my water had broken almost 24 hours before there was really little amniotic fluid it was all baby with the contractions with no buffer.
After about 5 hours or intense contractions I decide to get the epidural and thank goodness I do because right before I get it they check me and I'm only at a 4. There was no way I could have lasted until I got to 10 without any type of pain management. After the epidural went in the scariest 5 minutes of my life occurred. Hunter's heart rate dropped to the 60s and people came running into the room. My BP also skyrocketed and they were flipping me, putting oxygen on me and talking an emergency section.
Thank goodness everything turned around and his heartrate went up and my BP went down and we could proceed with labor. Labor progressed well, I even got in a 30 minute nap which I needed for pushing. My midwife was amazing and so encouraging when I was pushing. Apparently I was really good at it, but they may have just been saying that, but after 1 hour and no tearing or episiotomy (yay!) Hunter Stephen was born at 38 weeks. MH caught him and immediately placed him on my chest. As soon as I saw him I burst into tears and was so overwhelmed with love and joy. It is the single most important and amazing point of my life.
He's our little peanut and weighed 5lbs 11 oz and measured 19.5 inches. He has a head of blond hair and has been nursing well and loves to be held all the time.
I know so many people say this, but every single shot, test, treatment, tear, disappointment over the past 2.5 years was so worth it.
Thanks to all of you for all of your constant support and I wish every one of you safe and healthy pregnancies and deliveries.

IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14
After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
