Amazing Pediatrician! Dr Kenneth Akey!!!!

Hello All,

I have been extremely stressed about finding a pediatrician that would support what was most important DH and I. We really wanted someone so was super supportive of breastfeeding, had strong knowledge of pediatric nutrition(we want to focus on whole foods, not processed), and someone who would support us with a modified/delayed vaccination schedule because of our concern in developing the best possible immune system we can for our little one. 

I was so discouraged by some of the stories and conversations I had had with other families and pediatricians because it seemed like they were just so quick to prescribe antibiotics or supplement with formula without there being real reason to. I have seriously been loosing sleep trying to find someone. 

Enter Dr. Akey!!! We just met with him and his wonderful wife, she does the front office stuff. The things that made DH and I so ecstatic... 1. He took the time to draw a diagram and explain a procedure we had a question about  2. He said that my "mama intuition" was a valuable tool for him and that it is a priority for him to listen to us as parents because we will know our LO best. I am IN LOVE.  3. They are small enough to provide very personalized attention but also have a sick waiting room separated from a well room and have exam rooms that are decorated to the tastes of different age ranges. So sweet. 4. Best thing! They have a "Mama's Room" with a beautiful rocking chair and changing table for some quiet time with LO anytime. i.e. when you work with their lactation consultant, or after a circumcision to soothe LO. 

I was just so stressed by the process and am feeling so relieved now I wanted to share. If anyone is looking for a pediatrician, I would highly reccomend meeting with Dr. Akey!
