We'll first of all I went to the dr today and we were able to find the heartbeat via Doppler! (I'm 10 w 5 d) it was 164-170!
I found this fun gender prediction article on web md... Obviously the best way to know is to see it by ultrasound or by genetic testing but it's fun to guess!
I should add that in the 80s when my sis and I was born they told my mom my sis was a boy based on her heartbeat... So I'm not painting the nursery yet
I don't believe. Both of my kids were in the 160's, and one was a boy and one a girl. This one was 160 today at 11 weeks (nurse thinks 12 so maybe an ultrasound in two weeks to see!)

Skippy's (boy) heart rate was 154 bpm the whole pregnancy. Henrietta's (girl) was consistently 176-179 bpm. This baby appears to have a penis, so he's obviously a boy, and his heart rate at 7 weeks was 153 bpm, at 11 weeks it was 160 bpm, and now at 12 weeks+ is still at 160 bpm. Basically, what I'm getting at is that fetal heart rates are completely different for every baby. As long as your baby's heart rate is between 120 and 180, he/she is doing just fine, and that's really the only thing that's important.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, her heart rate averaged around 140-145. And this baby's is averaging 162-165 excited to see what it is in 4 weeks!
Doesn't it start out lower and get faster? Mine was 138 at 5w6d. Does that mean boy or girl?
I read that the heart rate peaks at like 11 weeks and starts going down a little at 14 weeks. At 5 weeks it's lower than it is at 7, etc. I just read that somewhere this morning, don't remember where exactly.

The u/s tech at my office said that isn't true, that since the time they started to guess gender via u/s, she hasn't seen that come true. My first u/s revealed a HB of 123 and second was 168 3 weeks later (9w). It would be sooo cool if it was reliable.
We saw the heartbeat today for the 1st time (dating ultrasound) and it was 184. SIL says I'm having a girl for sure. I'm happy either way - guess we'll just have to wait and see lol

I don't think it's true at all, because like with us the heart rate can change based on activity level, etc. I do think girls have a slightly higher heart rate during the delivery process, but I have never seen any proof for it as far as during pregnancy.
