No more breech and big boy!

I had my monthly ultrasound at the MFM this morning. LO was Frank Breech and has finally turned head down - hopefully no more somersaults for him. I know the weights are just estimates but he's weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz at 33 weeks 2 days. My previous 2 children were both big babies. His kidneys didn't grow any more this past month but are still outside the normal range (6 mm and 16 mm and they should be around 4 mm). One more visit to the MFM in 4 weeks and then I won't see him again.

Also visited the OB this morning and my iron is continuing to drop despite 2x a day supplements - we're down to 7 now. I go again Wednesday to check out my iron level and may be admitted for the day to do an iron infusion.

And a cute photo of LO to share :)

Re: No more breech and big boy!

  • Glad he's head down.  Is he anterior or posterior?  My little guy is head-down posterior ... I read that often enough they don't turn anterior until labor.

So if he's ~ 6 lbs at 33w, what would be expected 7w from now?

    FX for your iron.

In the pic, he says "Ooo!".  Yes, cute.

  • He's anterior. Doctor says that 9 pounds is what we should expect - my first two were 9 lbs 13 ozs and 8 lbs 14 ozs so no big surprise that he's big. I delivered them both vaginally so hopefully I can him as well.

My birth class has us doing pelvic rocks to turn posterior baby anterior, although she did agree with you that they have plenty of room to flip that way, even during labor, long labor might just mean they are flipping.
